Challenge
How to get people to interact and comment on public art located on the North Shore
Solution
Make art a game using Geocaching. Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants us a Global Positioning system (GS) receiver to find containers. A typical cache is a small waterproof container with a logbook and 'greasure', usually toys or trinkets of little value. Creative Wonders placed 10 Geocaches at some of the lesser known public art sites around North Vancouver and the fun began! Hundreds of people started to visit the sites and record their findings on-line. It has been an extremely successful interactive art program for the North Vancouver Office of Cultural Affairs.
